A Rad Future: Isabelle Boemeke
on How She’s Making Nuclear Energy Cool

What if the most misunderstood energy source is also our best hope for solving climate change?

In this episode of FOMO Sapiens, Patrick McGinnis sits down with Isabelle Boemeke, also known as Isodope, a climate influencer, creative technologist, and outspoken advocate for nuclear energy.

Isabelle’s journey began far from energy policy (working as a fashion model) before a wave of climate anxiety pushed her to dig into real solutions. What she found was nuclear: a safe, reliable, and massively scalable energy source with decades of data proving its effectiveness, but a reputation clouded by fear.

Through her Isodope persona, Isabelle breaks down complex science into futuristic, visually compelling content that people can’t look away from. She explains why accidents like Chernobyl and Fukushima are often misunderstood, why nuclear fuel can’t realistically be turned into bombs, and how the industry creates stable jobs and community growth. From climate storytelling to technological optimism, Isabelle makes the case for a rad future: one of energy abundance, human connection, and the power of rethinking what we thought we knew.

Meet Isabelle Boemeke:

Isabelle Boemeke is the Founder and Executive Director of Save Clean Energy and the creator of the online persona Isodope.

Through Isodope, Boemeke has taken a uniquely subversive approach to harness the power and scale of social media to inform the next generation of leaders and builders about the massive potential of nuclear electricity to help solve global climate crises.

Her education and advocacy efforts have expanded beyond the digital sphere into the real world, where she led a successful grassroots campaign to delay the closure of the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant in California. In 2021, she delivered a TED Talk that has since been viewed nearly 2 million times, explaining why nuclear electricity is our best chance to replace fossil fuels. In recognition of her influence on the global energy conversation, the following year, she was named a TIME Magazine Next Generation Leader.

Arriving in late summer 2025, RAD FUTURE is Boemeke’s provocative debut: a scientific and unconventional manifesto positioning nuclear electricity as a key solution to the climate emergency.
